I started at Bin 604 in 2010 with no background in wine outside of casual drinking and have developed a (mostly) healthy obsession since. I am very lucky to have landed here, completely by chance and given the opportunity to learn and grow with the remarkable people I've worked with. Wine is culture, art, science and community and I cannot imagine my life without it.

Favorite wine and music pairing? Changes frequently, but right now, Anderson Paak's album Malibu and Vermentino from Sardegna. I know, I should pick something from California but when these two come together it just feels right.

Growing up in a part of the world where the vine is a core component of cultural and religious heritage has created an invaluable foundation for my venture into this industry. There are many intricate details that go into molding one individual glass of wine; so many different wine cultures, grape varietals, fermentation techniques... the list goes on. For the last couple of years here at the Bin, I have obtained a myriad of information about that dear fermented grape juice we all admire, and not a day goes by that I don’t find myself learning something new.

Now about that wine question… I’m having a really hard time with it as there are so many favorites. I feel weird singling one out, but I very much lean towards the old world wines (I guess that long history of wine making does it for me). Pour me a glass of left bank Bordeaux, Barolo, or that gorgeous red Burgundy and I am a happy girl.

When looking back on my early days of working in wine sales and at Black Ankle Vineyards, I never would have anticipated the profound impact those jobs would have on my life. The wine knowledge I gained continued to resurface in other areas and career paths, from catering to studying plant science and teaching others about where their food comes from. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back and to share with you what I have come to know and love about the grapes that are grown and stories they tell.
